Road to Victory, Infographics

Infographics / Data Visualization
for The Blavatnik Archive Foundation
2019-2021

Overview

A series of three specialized infographics used to communicate the generals and admirals in the Soviet Union armed forces, awarded military awards, and the women in the Soviet Union were theorized to effectively communicate a vast array of data while matching the aesthetics and style of the various exhibit applications when placed in context.

Because the exhibit is world-traveling and multilingual, each graphic needed to be translated and converted to support an initial launch of English, French, German, Hebrew, and Cyrillic.

These graphics were non-existent before, and required pre-planning, sketching, and full realized concepts to come into fruition.

Challenges

• Working with limited understanding of various languages

• Varying character widths/heights made visual elements shift, and required methodically mapping of text to element rations and placement within the artboards

• Proofing and revisioning through third-party copy editors and content specialist to ensure accuracy of titles, grammar, arrangement, and readability across each language
