A one-night immersive dining experience where synchronized environmental motion, spatial media, and culinary storytelling transformed the room into a living expression of New Mexico's landscapes, culture, and cuisine.

Context
Created for Visit Albuquerque, this limited-run immersive dinner introduced guests to New Mexico through a sequence of evolving environments inspired by Historic Route 66, the expansive Southwest landscape, flamenco, regional cuisine, and the diverse cultural traditions that shape Albuquerque.
Each course became its own chapter, with the surrounding environment continuously transforming to support the story unfolding at the table.
Problem

Approach
Environmental Storytelling
Rather than treating media as a backdrop, the environment itself became the narrative. Motion, light, and atmosphere evolved throughout the evening, surrounding guests with a constantly changing sense of place.
Choreographed Experience
Every course introduced a new environment inspired by New Mexico's landscapes, culture, and traditions. Motion, pacing, and visual rhythm were carefully choreographed to reinforce the story behind each dish.
Spatial Continuity
Individual scenes were designed as part of a larger environmental sequence, allowing the room to transform organically from one chapter to the next without interrupting the dining experience.

Custom animated environments were developed to flow across segmented architectural surfaces, transforming the venue into a continuously evolving spatial experience.
Rather than presenting isolated moments, every sequence was designed as part of a larger visual choreography that surrounded guests throughout the evening.

Each environment was synchronized with a specific course, creating a progression that reflected the flavors, landscapes, and cultural influences behind the menu.
From the nostalgia of Historic Route 66 to sweeping desert vistas, expressive flamenco, and the vibrancy of New Mexican cuisine, every transition expanded the narrative through movement instead of static imagery.
Technical Environment
The installation required careful coordination between animation, environmental media, projection mapping, lighting, and playback systems to create the illusion of a single responsive environment spanning multiple architectural surfaces.
Precision in timing and sequencing ensured that visual transitions aligned naturally with the pacing of the dining experience.
